paddlesports

learn to kayak on rivers & lochs

Snowgoose Mountain Centre provides paddling opportunities with something for everyone – from basic introductory and intermediate sessions, holidays & courses in kayaks during spring, summer & autumn.

We cater from absolute beginners wanting a leisurely half or full day introduction to the sport to those requiring an in depth refresher before taking a qualification assessment.

Our kayaking sessions, courses & holidays are initially based on the sheltered open inland waters of Loch Lochy, Loch Sheil or among near by islands of the tidal Loch Linnhe on our doorstep. With a little more experience we can easily progress to the moving water of the rivers Lochy, Oich, and later to the Roy, Spean, etc. Our favourite spot for beginners is on Loch Lochy in a wide sheltered open bay with visiting ospreys in the summer – along with small rapids tumbling down from the loch a few miles above.

As we are based on the short steep side of the country we have good local access to excellent white water rivers – which are largely spate in nature, some of which are quite technical in nature. This gives excellent training opportunities for intermediate and advanced white water paddling in a unique environment.

If your group of friends, college, university or club has some specific needs we are more than happy to custom tailor make courses to your requirements. Our half day or full day sessions are ideal for families or groups of friends wanting a holiday experience or short break. To this end we are able to offer excellent value Family or Group Day Tickets.

Our half day or full day sessions, day tours & courses are only led by local, friendly, professionally qualified and experienced instructors & guides.
